View a document's details

A document's details panel gathers everything Tiro Pro holds about one document: its description, its owner, the collections it belongs to, and every version of it. It also lets you edit the title and description in place.

Open the details

On the Documents page, open a row's other actions menu () and choose Open details. The panel slides over the page and loads the document's information and versions.

The eye action on a row opens a preview of the latest version of the document.

Close the panel with the × at the top right. If you move from this document to a related one, a Navigate Back control appears so you can return to where you started.

What the panel shows

The panel is divided into sections, and each has a chevron so you can collapse it out of the way:

  • Core Fields — the document's description, its owner, and when it was created.
  • Collections — the collections this document belongs to. You can choose which columns this list shows.
  • Versions — every version of the document, file and text alike, in one list.

Rename the document

Select the title at the top of the panel, or the pencil beside it, type the new title, and press Enter or select elsewhere on the page. The documents table picks up the new title.

A document must have a title. If you clear it and try to save, the previous title is put back.

When you create a document, its details open with the title ready to edit, so you can name it immediately.

Edit the description

Select the description in Core Fields, type, and save. A description is optional, so you may also leave it empty.

Download the document

Select Download in the panel.

Work with versions

The Versions section lists the document's file and text versions together, each with its own details and actions.

To remove a single version, use the delete action on its row and confirm. Only that version goes. To delete the whole document, use the row's other actions menu or the bulk bar on the Documents page — see Work with the documents table.

Advanced options

If advanced mode is turned on in your settings, a Show advanced toggle appears at the top right of the panel. Turning it on adds technical identifiers to Core Fields, and a further section listing every link between this document and other documents. Each link shows its direction, the kind of link it is, the other document's title, and when and by whom it was created. To see how this document relates to the rest of your documents as a graph, open the navigator. The panel remembers how you left the toggle.

The panel keeps itself up to date

If a colleague edits the same document while you have the panel open, the details update on their own.

Switching to another team closes the panel.
