Use discussions
To ask the agent about your team's documents, open the Discussions tab, start a discussion, attach the subjects you want the agent to consult, and type your message. Your discussions are kept, so you can return to one at any time.
The three panels
The Discussions tab is laid out in three panels:
- Discussions — your discussions, one to a row.
- Subjects — what the agent may consult.
- The thread — the messages themselves.
The Discussions and Subjects panels each collapse, sit compact, or expand, using the toggle in their own header. Use it to give the thread more room while you read a long answer.
On a small screen the three do not sit side by side. A switcher moves between Conversations, Subjects, and Thread instead, one at a time.
Start a discussion
Select + in the Discussions header — its tooltip reads "New discussion".
The discussion appears in the list named "New Discussion" and opens straight away. It starts with nothing attached: a new discussion does not inherit the subjects attached to the one before it. Both sections of the Subjects panel become available for you to attach to.
Each row in the list shows:
- the discussion's title;
- a badge reading Fast or Thorough — select it to choose between them before you send the first message;
- Rename;
- Delete.
The Fast / Thorough choice belongs to that discussion alone, and it is settled once the thread has started. After the first message the badge is disabled, and its tooltip reads "Model is locked once the thread has started."
Attach subjects
The Subjects panel holds two sections, DOCUMENTS & COLLECTIONS and WORKFLOWS. Both are available once a discussion is open. What you attach here is what the agent consults when it answers, so attach the material the question is about and leave the rest out.
Documents and collections
Expand DOCUMENTS & COLLECTIONS. A By Document / By Collection toggle sets how the list is presented, with By Document selected to begin with.
- By Document lists your team's documents as a flat list of tick boxes. Sort them by the Title column, or narrow the list with the Filter box beneath the header — it keeps the documents whose titles contain what you type. Tick a document to attach it.
- By Collection lists collections instead. Expand one to see the documents in it, and tick the collection to attach it. A tree mode presents collections and their members hierarchically, and the nodes you expand stay expanded as you work.
To narrow a long list by tag, collection, or owner before you attach anything, find the documents on the Documents page.
Workflows
Expand WORKFLOWS and select a workflow row to attach it. Select the same row again to clear it.
Show your own items or the whole team's
A Show team toggle sets the reach of the lists. Turn it off and you see only your own documents, collections, and workflows; turn it on and you see everything the team holds.
Whatever you attach is saved with the discussion, and comes back the next time you open it.
Send a message
Type your message in the thread and send it. The agent takes the attached subjects into account, and the reply appears as it is written rather than arriving all at once. When it finishes, the discussion moves to the top of the Discussions list.
You do not have to wait for it:
- Switch discussions mid-reply. A reply in progress stays in the discussion it belongs to — it never appears in the one you switched to. A reply running there carries on unaffected.
- Close the browser mid-reply. The agent carries the answer through to the end. Open the discussion again and it is there.
Open, close, rename, and delete
- Open — select a discussion. Its history loads, up to the last 100 messages, and the subjects saved with it are re-attached.
- Close — select the open discussion again. The thread closes and no discussion is selected.
- Rename — select the rename action. The title becomes editable; type a new one and submit it. An empty title is refused and the original name stays.
- Delete — select Delete and confirm. The discussion leaves the list, and if it was open the thread closes.
The list is ordered by activity: whenever the agent finishes a reply, that discussion moves to the top.
